i asked the same question for and equivalant of Macromedia Dreamweaver in Linux environment on IRC and the guy told me
"use vi"
hahah
my point is that once you come to the Linux environment, you have to think security, efficency, performance not looks

I cannot say I agree with this, No matter what OS you are running; be it linux windows A/UX or OS X. Thoughts of those with sensitive data have priority on "security, efficiency, and performance" . On the contrary for artists and even developers, those aspects of computing matter but become tied in with design and looks.
It is difficult to explain throughoughly but everyone liks designers and good looking designs, maybe you shouldn't be using linux to make a flash website like you would make a flash website useing windows but when design and artistry is sacrificed at the hand of efficiency then culture looses.

NoTE: I'm not trying to make enemies, just giving opinoins and thoughts, And I have this extremely broad definition of 'art'.

Hey fragment,
I thought I've seen this discussed on /. and I was right:
| Quote: | "Dreamweaver MX, Flash MX With CrossOver Office".
AstroDrabb writes "It seems that CodeWeavers' CrossOver Office 2.1 now supports Dreamweaver MX and Flash MX. So for those who have been waiting to ditch MS Windows because of these two apps, now is your chance. The announcement from CodeWeavers can be found here and the changelog can be found here. The list of supported applications is also getting pretty impressive." |
Here is the link: http://developers.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=03/10/28/031219&mode=thread&tid=126&tid=152&tid=163&tid=185
Hope this helps.
P.S.
It looks like it is a commercial software, but they have a trial version. |

just an fyi, fraggy was really looking for presentation software where I had addressed here: http://ivu.irvineunderground.org/viewtopic.php?t=365
though you can also use xoveroffice with powerpoint if you want to do WYSIWYG slides... magicpoint slides are created using text ala vi ... or whatever your favorite ed is.
btw...
... someone should fix that cookie problem! _________________ -=BW=-

No one said to sacrify design. My point was that every OS has its usage.
Windows is good for its capabilities (Rapid and Userfirnedly solutions), Mac is good for its capabiliteis (graphic), and Linux is good for its advantages (security and effiency).
I personally would never use Linux as workstation, I am happy with my Windows NT and it is pretty secure. I am however using Linux as server...
...but again, that is me...

yes but linux is comming up for graphics i learned this at the linux expo. linux was used to render and retouch frame by frame movies like "Shrek" and "starwars: attack of the clones" and others so linux is becoming more versitle.

yeah linux and graphics are nice on multiple nodes... but it wouldn't be something you'd be running on a laptop _________________ -=BW=-
